Why Automated twitter feeds don’t work, or Heston Blumenthals empty promises

For some time I have been trying to come up with an automated solution so allow small businesses to make the most of twitter with a minimal of effort.

While I have had some success I’ve never come up with something I would be happy to release into the wild on behalf of a client because you never really know what’s going to happen. It looks like Heston Blumenthal is about to discover what happens when you use automated software to manage you social media campaign, Here you can see is twitter feed repeating a bad review simply because it contains his name.

Social media is all about interaction with clients and potential clients, the minute you try to automate that you are asking for trouble.

    To be fair to HB that’s a fan and not the official feed. Doesn’t help the guy but it’s not his fault (and the program actually looked good, just a shame I missed most of it due to working!) 🙂
