Yesterday I had a meeting in Manchester city centre, and decided to cycle in, its the furthest I’ve rode since my back surgery but more about that later, I knew I I’d have to leave the bike for a couple of hours so wanted to find somewhere secure to leave it.
I’d seen popup bikes on Facebook when a friend checked in there so I though I’d check it out, so I hopped on the bike and headed for Manchester, The ride there was easy enough, 5 miles in about 30 mins which may not seem like much but its a start. Popup Bikes was easy enough to find and when I got there I was pleasantly surprised, its housed in one of the old arches on corporation street, the front is a seating/cafe area and the back is bike storage/repairs.
Everyone there was really friendly and the prices were great, £1.50 to leave the bike for the day and under £2 for a cappuccino, I left the bike (unlocked I might add) can back a few hours later and it was still there, woohoo!
Ride back didn’t go as well, by back just wasn’t up to it and I had to call the Mrs to come pick me up, I did 7.5 miles in total, so really please with that.
I’m off to Madlab on Saturday for #tabletopday so will be trying again, this time we’ll see if I can make it there and back.
