Flash is dead!

Dec 31, 2020 | Blog, Web Design

As of December 31 Adobe Flash is officially dead, it has reached its end of life and Adobe recommends uninstalling it.

Siem Reap So what is Flash?

First released in November 1996, at the time by Macromedia, Flash is/was an application that allowed rich content to appear on websites, by this we tend to mean animation and video content. While you may not have heard of it, it’s safe to say you have definitely used it while navigating around a website or watching a video online.

Its end has been coming for quite some time, beset with security problems and surpassed by HTML5 it will no longer be supported by Adobe and as a result should be uninstalled from your devices, and anything that used it should be replaced or else this is all your visitors will see.

You can find out more about the end of Flash here, but in the meantime if you have an old website it’s worth checking to see if flash is used.
