Hackspace Founder

Founder of Hack Oldham a non profit community maker space, based in the heart of Oldham’s independent quarter, an area currently undergoing a large amount of investment and redevelopment.

Hack Oldham welcomes people of all ages and background and encourages them to be more creative. It has a traditional maker space environment as well as co-working spaces for sole traders and SME’s.

At the space I organise a number of public events including:

  • Maker nights
  • WordPress user group
  • Raspberry Jam
  • Restart Party

STEM Ambassador

Since 2014 I have been a STEM ambassador working with schools to encourage young people to work towards careers in Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths.

Established in 2015 the monthly Hack The Library events held at Oldham Library have seen technology ranging from Robots to Virtual reality brought to the library for people of all ages to experience.

These taster sessions have encouraged a number of families to get involved in further events at Hack Oldham including Minecraft and robotics clubs.
